Viacom appoints Northern Europe boss
Viacom International Media Networks has appointed Magnus Kastner boss of its business in Northern Europe.
He will start in the new executive VP and managing director role next February. He will oversee all of VIMN’s operations across Germany, Switzerland and Austria, Poland, the Netherlands and Belgium, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark and Iceland.
Kaster will be based in the German capital, Berlin, and report directly to VIMN president and CEO Bob Bakish.
He succeeds Dan Ligtvoet, who left the company in September, and Willem Schelling, chief operating officer of VIMN North, who served as interim managing director after Ligtvoet’s departure.
Before joining VIMN, Kastner was president of Rotana Media Services and before that managing director and senior VP of Discovery Networks Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Bakish said: “We’re thrilled to have Magnus join our team at Viacom International Media Networks, as he has a long history of success in guiding and growing businesses across Europe and the Middle East.”
