MSNBC orders bank robbery doc series
US current affairs and factual channel MSNBC has ordered Heist, a three-part doc series about America’s most notorious bank robbers and bank robberies.
The 3x60mins series has been produced by Tom Jennings’ 1895 Films. It profiles the criminals and heists and has interviews with witnesses and law enforcement officers and drama reconstructions.
“With thousands of bank robberies taking place each year in the United States, we had a lot of stories to choose from,” said Jennings. “In this series, we profile the most intense and outrageous heists, going behind the headlines to get to the real stories of what happened.”
MSNBC’s long form unit, which is run by Michael Rubin, commissioned the project. The cable net schedules docs in its weekend primetime and late night schedules. Heist will debut on MSNBC on Sunday, January 5.
