New trade association for southeast Asian producers

A new trade body the Southeast Asian Audio-Visual Association has been formed to represent the interest of filmmakers in the region.

The group has been created by Singapore-based film financier Gin Kai of the Silver Media Group.

The not-for-profit group will promote content created in the region internationally and facilitate cooperation among members.

Launched during the week of the ATF market, SAAVA is currently recruiting members.

SAAVA said it will attend markets and festivals and will organise business matching sessions, offer incentives to students and professionals and arrange industry exchange trips and training programmes.
