Maya the Bee buzzes for Disney

Disney has acquired CGI kids series Maya the Bee.

The show will go out on the Disney Junior preschool channel in the region. Disney bought the series from Studio 100, which distributes the series and produces it out of its French studio.

In France the series goes out on commissioning broadcasters TF1 and in Germany on ZDF. In Asia it will bow on Disney on January 1 and be shown daily.

The series is based on the bestselling book by Waldemar Bonsels, first published in 1912.

The deal comes ahead of the ATF TV market, which starts tomorrow.
