Nick buys Wanda and the Alien for intn’l channels
Nickelodeon has acquired Wanda and the Alien for its international channels.
The deal, which does not cover the US, means the animated series will be seen on over 70 Nick channels around the world.
The 52x10mins preschool series is produced by Random House Children’s Screen Entertainment and Komixx Entertaiment. It will debut on free-to-air net Channel 5 in the UK this autumn.
The 2D show follows a young girl rabbit and her alien friend and is based on a Random House book series by Sue Hendra.
Kids content specialist Cake distributes the show internationally. It inked a distribution deal with RHCSE earlier this year.
Andrew Cole Bulgin, partner and head of film & TV at RHCSE said: “We are delighted that Nick Jr. have shown such a strong commitment to this wonderful show, having an international platform for Wanda at such an early stage is fantastic and will enable us to get the show out to the widest possible audience.”
