Ovation traces Artful Detective

US cable channel Ovation has acquired the ITV Studios Global Entertainment-sold drama The Artful Detective (aka Murdoch Mysteries).

The network has acquired all seven seasons of the show, which is based on Maureen Jennings’ book series Detective Murdoch and produced by Canada’s Shaftesbury, in association with UKTV-owned Alibi, CityTV (seasons 1-5) and CBC (seasons 6-7).

Season seven launched on CBC in Canada to a series high 1.4 million viewers on September 30.
