Former Turner Nordic boss Scheynius resurfaces at Hippeis
Ignas Scheynius has taken a role at Sweden-based dubbing and subtitling business Hippeis Media.
Until the end of last year Scheynius was managing director, Nordic & Baltic at Turner Broadcasting.
He left after Turner closed elements of the Millenium Media Group production and distribution business that it acquired in 2010. Scheynius was one of the founders of MMG.
He is now chairman of the board at Hippeis, which has also brought on Eduardo Afonso, a former director of PrimeText International and subtitling expert Martin Herclik. They will serve as managing director Nordic, and deputy MD, Nordic respectively.
Scheynius said: “I am excited to join forces with a highly experienced team and to yet again be part of a language company. With the current growth in the market, Hippeis Media is well positioned to grow the business with the view to becoming market leader.”
TBI revealed that Turner had closed NonStop Sales in February. Turner said at the time it was not part of wider company restructuring and CG Anderson, the other MMG cofounder, remained in his position as MD, Turner Broadcasting Nordic and Baltic.
