Sony draws up Blacklist in 66 territories
Hotly-tipped Sony Pictures Television mystery thriller The Blacklist will debut in 66 territories and 11 languages on SPT Networks-owned channels.
The show will launch on NBC on September 23 and in the UK on Sky Living, France on TF1, Canada on Global, Germany on RTL, Seven in Australia and TV3 in Scandinavia in following weeks.
That roll out has now been followed with the news SPT Networks will launch across Asia and Poland on AXN and Sony Entertainment Television across Latin America, Brazil, Russia and the CIS.
The show, which Davis Entertainment Company produced in association with SPT, follows the story of a FBI Most Wanted criminal (James Spader) who turns himself in and agrees to give up other felons named on his ‘blacklist’ but on the proviso he only ever talks with a rookie female profiler.
At the LA Screenings earlier this year, the James Spader-starring series created perhaps the biggest buzz among buyers.
“SPT’s global networks group strives to deliver the hottest US series, so we naturally pursued the most buzzed-about show at this year’s LA Screenings,” says Marie Jacobson, executive VP, programming and production for SPT Networks. “From its stellar cast to the great twists and turns, The Blacklist is the perfect event-driven TV series to punctuate our networks’ prime time lineups.”
