News brief: Echo Bridge adds Woodward doc to slate

US-based Echo Bridge Entertainment has added another documentary to its slate ahead of MIPCOM, this time the Joanne Woodward-produced Shepherd & Dark.

The doc follows the complex 40-year relationship between playwright Sam Shepherd and his close friend Johnny Dark as they prepare for publication of their private correspondence. It comes from former screen actress Woodward, who is best known for her half-century marriage to the late Paul Newman.

Shepherd & Dark joins other recent doc acquisitions Jeff, Brutal Beauty: Tales of the Rose City Rollers, All in: The Poker Movies, 26,000 Feet: Cleaning Everest and Adrian Grenier’s My Name is Faith.
