Anything Goes in Europe, Brazil
French comedy entertainment format Anything Goes has landed commissions in four new territories.
Spain’s Antena 3, Ukraine’s 1+1, Romania’s Antena 1 and Brazil’s Globo have all ordered local versions of the format, in which comedians are tasked with performing humour tasks.
Meanwhile, Shine Iberia has been commissioned to produce a second season on Portuguese broadcaster SIC. The Macarena Rey-helmed company will also produce Antena 3’s 13x90mins Spanish version.
Globo will produce its 20-part primetime series in-house, while 1+1 is getting a 10-episode series and Antena 1 will get an eight-part run.
This comes after an Australian version of the Shine International-sold format launch on Network Seven under the title SlideShow to strong ratings last week.
The format began life on France’s TF1. It was created by former Endemol France executive Arthur Essebag and his production outfit Satisfaction – The Television Agency.
Other international versions have been commissioned in China, Lebanon, French-speaking Canada and Denmark.
“Anything Goes is a comedy entertainment show with a fresh unique take that is a credit to Satisfaction. Right now comedy is in high demand everywhere globally and this show has a universal appeal and flexibility which has seen major success at different times and lengths,” said Shine Group CEO Alex Mahon.
