NBCU developing sci-fi comic for TV with Walking Dead firm
NBCUniversal production wing Universal Television is working with writer David Schulner to develop a TV adaptation of his comic book series Clone.
The deal comes as part of Schulner’s overall deal with NBCU, which has already spawned midseason show Do No Harm, which ran on NBC but was cancelled last year. He has also worked on further NBC series The Event and Trauma.
His sci-fi conspiracy comic Clone comes from The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman’s Skybound imprint, part of the Image Comics stable. Kirkman will executive produce the project with Schulman, David Alpert and David Engel.
AMC’s reworking of the Walking Dead comic cable’s highest-ever rated series.
The news came during an Image Comics panel session at this weekend’s Comic Con International confab in San Diego.
