Stalbow flies Rovio’s Birds nest

Andrew Stalbow, the man that negotiated television deals for the Angry Birds animated series, is exiting his role at Rovio Entertainment.

US-based Stalbow was head of strategic partnerships, a position that included taking the mega-popular mobile games onto TV.

The Wall Street Journal reports he is leaving to launch his own venture, though details haven’t yet been provided.

The Angry Birds TV series launched earlier this year on a number of linear TV channels around the world as part a major roll-out that also included digital platforms.

The Angry Birds brand is one of the biggest animated money-spinners of the digital brands era, and has spawned TV series, online animated features, numerous games and a lucractive licensing and merchandising business.
