Crime being replaced by Fox channel in Norway

Fox International Channels is replacing its Fox Crime channel with the core Fox service in Norway.

FIC has been aggressively rolling out Fox in Europe with launches in the UK and across Central and Eastern Europe in the past twelve months.

In Norway, the channel will have a broader programming line-up than the Fox Crime channel. FIC said it will still have first-run US series, but will add other genres of programming to the mix.

Series on the Norwegian Fox service will include The Walking Dead, Da Vinci’s Demons, American Horror Story, The Glades, and NCIS.

It will also be the first channel in Norway to show the US remake of Nordic drama The Bridge that is being produced and distributed by Shine, which like FIC is owned by News Corp.

The rebranded channel launches July 1. It will have about 80% penetration of the Norwegian pay TV market with carriage on Canal Digital Altibox, GET, RiksTV and HFC.
