Oz, Euro broadcasters tap Cineflix third-party series
Broadcasters in Australia, the UK and Italy have acquired a total of more than 120 hours from UK-based distributor Cineflix Rights.
Foxtel’s deal in Australia gives it LMNO Productions’ 6x60mins series Hollywood & Crime, 3x60mins series Cheating Vegas and the 13x60mins fourth season of Unusual Suspects; Like a Shot Entertainment and Definition Media’s 6x60mins Instruments of Death; and the 8x60mins second season of Indigo Films’ Wives with Knives.
UKTV-owned UK net Really has bought seasons one to five of LMNO’s Special Delivery, plus the prodco’s 3x60mins 101 Things Removed from the Human Body and 10x60mins Amazing Medical Stories; and Triage Entertainment’s one-hour doc The Real Skinny.
Italian broadcaster has bought 101 Things… and Amazing Medical Stories, along with The Download Concept-produced 10x30mins series Bigger Better Faster Stronger, Sharp Entertainment’s 3x60mins series Head Games and Touch Productions 2x60mins I, Human. All will air on Italia 1 in its Archimed science slot.
“Cineflix Rights’ third-party slate has grown steadily over the past few years and now represents around 50 per cent of our catalogue,” said Cineflix Media’s CEO, rights, and added: “Our teams will be at NATPE Budapest, Realscreen West and Banff World Media Festival looking to acquire and sell more third-party content as we continue to expand this side of our business.”
