PBS tunes into Emeli Sandé
US free-to-air broadcaster PBS has acquired TV rights to singer/songwriter Emeli Sandé’s recent concert at the Royal Albert Hall, London.
PBS has North American rights to the concert and its distributor DCD Media has also shopped it to DirecTV, which has pay TV rights across most of Latin America. In Brazil, Globosat has picked up the show.
In Europe, Finland’s YLE has acquired the Live at the Royal Albert Hall concert, which either runs to 1x60mins or 1x100mins.
Nicky Davies Williams, CEO, DCD Rights, said: “Emeli Sandé’s talent as a songwriter and charisma as a live performer have captivated audiences around the world during her London Olympic ceremonies performances. These first sales reflect the artist’s truly global appeal and this epic concert is arguably one of her finest filmed performance date.”
