Endemol sells Happily Divorced to German Turner channel
Turner’s female-skewed German channel Glitz has acquired comedy series Happily Divorced.
It has picked up the series from Endemol’s programme sales arm and it will air across German-speaking territories.
Nadja Raoufi, acquisitions & dubbing manager Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Benelux, CEE & Russia at Turner Broadcasting System said: Happily Divorced has it all, the star power in Fran Drescher, a household name after her success in The Nanny, intriguing characters and hilarious writing.”
Endemol has already sold it to broadcasters including Fox International Channels in Eastern Europe, Comedy Central in Latin America and free-to-air channels TV3 in Sweden and SBS6 in the Netherlands.
The show follows a Los Angeles florist Fran (Drescher) whose 18-year marriage ends suddenly when her husband (John Michael Higgins) announces he’s gay.
