News brief: IMG exec expands role

IMG Media’s senior VP has taken over US acquisitions and distribution at the New York-headquartered company.

Hillary Mandel will now control operations of IMG Media programming, reporting into Ioris Franchini, executive VP, head of acquisitions and sales, worldwide.

Mandel has been with the company for 14 years, and will continue to co-manage IMG Media’s Canadian business alongside long-serving exec Peter Smith.

“Hillary’s understanding of the North American marketplace is second to none and covers the entire media spectrum, from established national networks to the niche sport channels that have been emerging both in Canada and U.S. in recent times,” said Francini.
