Global Screen tees up US and Euro deals for Girl Boy gameshow
German distributor Global Screen has secured an order for more episodes of gender-based gameshow format It’s a Girl Boy Thing and says it is closing in on deals in the US and other territories.
Having aired two episodes of a local version of the show last year, Estonia’s Kanal2 has now ordered a further nine episodes, which will go out in a primetime slot.
Confirming the order, Global Screen said it is negotiating deals for the format with buyers in the US, Italy, Spain and Eastern Europe.
The gameshow tackles gender differences and airs on RTL in Germany. Celebrity guests take part and guess at results as experts conduct experiments designed to highlight the differences between men and women.
Alexandra Heidrich, Global Screen’s sales manager, formats, said: “It is the perfect example for a concept that transcends cultural and national boundaries, that is made to travel far and wide. I am confident that this format will be a great success in the US and other territories.”
