Viacom cuts content deals with French broadcasters

Viacom international Media Networks has cut a raft of programming deals with French channels in the wake of MIPTV.

It has licensed SpongeBob SquarePants, the SpongeBob Christmas special and season seven of Dora the Explorer to TF1. France’s largest commercial broadcaster has also acquired the second season of Kung Fu Panda and renewed deals for a special of Dora spin-off Go, Diego, Go!

French public broadcaster France Télévisions, meanwhile, has bought the debut season of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and season two of animated preschool series Bubble Guppies. It has also taken Wild Thornberrys for its satellite channel France Ô.

French digital and DTT channels have also bought VIMN content. Lagardere-owned kids channel Gulli has taken two seasons of live-action series iCarly. Canal+ owned DTT channel D17 has bought all episodes of Pimp My Ride.
