AMC taking Walking Dead to YouTube with Nerdist

AMC is teaming up with multiplatform producer and channel operator Nerdist Industries and will release bonus footage from The Walking Dead companion show Talking Dead on YouTube.

The US cable net has also signed a development deal with Nerdist and will work up its All Star Celebrity Bowling property as a potential TV series.

Talking Dead follows on from smash hit zombie series The Walking Dead on AMC. It is hosted by Chris Hardwick, the founder of Nerdist, which runs Nerdist.com and an associated YouTube channel.

The extra Talking Dead content will also be released on the show’swebsite.

Hardwick said: “It has always been one of our main goals with Nerdist to grow content in the digital garden of the Internet which we could then evolve onto other platforms,” Hardwick said. “In addition to allowing us to distribute bonus segments of Talking Dead on the Nerdist YouTube Channel, we are excited to work with them to potentially bring All Star Bowling to television. Platforms Unite!”
