Turner orders more Gumball
Turner Broadcasting has ordered a third season of The Amazing World of Gumball, the first series to come out of the company’s London-based Cartoon Network Studio Europe.
The series, which has been produced in 2D and 3D animation within a live-action setting, has been a success in the UK and Europe as well as the US, resulting in the international kids broadcaster renewing it for a third season.
The move will mean that there are now a total of 40x11mins episodes.
The third season will launch on Cartoon Network in over 160 countries.
Daniel Lennard, VP, original series and development at Turner Broadcasting said: “We’re really thrilled to greenlight a third season of our debut series from Cartoon Network Studio Europe. Season two has already seen a big leap in terms of comedy and visual storytelling and we’re excited to see where we can go with a third season. This is a testament to Turner’s belief in the remarkable talents of Ben Bocquelet, Mic Graves and the entire Gumball team.”
