MIPCOM: Japanese broadcasters prep formats networking event

Japan’s largest broadcasters will run a networking event at MIPCOM designed to promote Japanese-originated formats to international buyers.

NHK, Nippon TV, TV Asahi, TBS, TV Tokyo, Fuji will co-host the “Treasure Box Japan New Formats Dinner”.

The event is supported by the Japanese Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.

New formats from the broadcasters will be presented at the event, which takes place in the Carlton Hotel on Sunday, October 7th.

Japanese broadcasters have been attending MIPCOM individually since the 1980s, but this is the first time that they will unite for an all-Japan effort.
