eOne looks to resurrect Todd and The Book of Pure Evil

Canadian horror comedy series Todd and The Book of Pure Evil may be resurrected despite its cancellation by Canadian broadcaster Space, TBI understands.

The show, which is produced by Aircraft Pictures and distributed by Entertainment One, has been an international hit but wasn’t renewed by Bell Media speciality channel Space for a third season.

However, Prentiss Fraser, SVP, worldwide sales and acquisitions, eOne, told TBI that the show is not over and it is currently discussing ways to bring it back.

“It’s a funny show with a cult audience,” says Fraser. “We are in discussions with the producers as to whether to bring it back as a web series or a film. We’re trying to figure out the brand extensions now,” adds.

Todd and The Book of Pure Evil
follows a group of high school students that have to deal with the effects of a demonic book. It was based on a short film and created by Craig David Wallace, Charles Picco and Anthony Leo.

The series has been sold to broadcasters including FEARnet in the United States, Syfy in the UK and MTV in Germany and Fraser believes that there is interest to keep the series alive.
