Tricon expands scripted activity with Lewin Webb hire

Canada-based producer and distributor Tricon has hired veteran TV and film producer Lewin Webb as it seeks to expand its activities in the realm of scripted TV.

Webb will head up scripted development at Tricon, which will announce a slate of drama programming within weeks.

Webb has made numerous indie movies and TV movies and recently launched Samaritan Entertainment, which launched movie I Declare War at the Toronto International Film Festival.

“Tricon’s expansion of its scripted division is a natural extension of our growth strategy and we couldn’t be happier to have someone of Lewin’s experience and talent heading up this important new undertaking,” said Andrea Gorfolova, president Tricon Films & Television.
