A&E developing Michael Bay supernatural cop drama
US cable network A&E is developing a supernatural cop drama from Transformers director Michael Bay and American Horror Story writer James Wong.
The broadcaster has ordered a cast contingent pilot for Occult, which centres around a troubled FBI agent who is paired with a new partner that specialises in the supernatural.
Occult will be produced by Bay’s Platinum Dunes and is his latest move into television. Earlier this year, Starz ordered eight episodes of his Treasure Island themed series Black Sails and the company is also developing pilot The Last Ship for TNT.
Wong, who has also worked on The X-Files and Final Destination 3, will write the series and will exec produce alongside Bay and his Platinum Dunes colleagues Andrew Form and Brad Fuller.
