Ukrainian dance format heads to Norway

Ukrainian talent format Go Dance! is to be remade in Norway after Star Media closed a deal with Nice Entertainment.

Scandinavian production group Nice, which is owned by private equity firm CapMan, has acquired the rights from Russian producer distributor Star Media.

This follows deals with US production company My Tupelo Entertainment and French producer Effervescence.

The show, was originally produced by Studio Kvartal-95 for Ukrainian broadcaster Inter TV, is a 10x120mins format that takes a group of young dancers that compete in a live competition that features up to 500 dancers.

Go Dance! is a great modern TV show for the entire family. It combines huge public events with an exciting talent competition – as a format it contains all the ingredients to become a hit in Norway,” says Nice Entertainment CEO Morten Aass.

Sergey Shefir, director of Studio Kvartal-95 and deputy chief producer of Inter TV, added: “The popularity of the format Go Dance! is growing internationally. It may well be called one of the most promising projects of the Ukrainian television.”
