Nat Geo staffing up new international content hub
National Geographic Channels International is looking to hire a senior commissioning editor and an acquisitions manager for its nascent content hub in London.
Hamish Mykura, executive vice president and head of international content, NGCI, announced the company’s new content structure at its first producer briefing in London yesterday. He has made three new appointments and is actively recruiting for three new positions.
Matt Taylor has been promoted to senior vice president, content, international and director of programming and content for Europe; Jules Oldroyd has been named vice president, programming and strategic development and programme director, Nat Geo Channel, UK and Hannah Demidowicz becomes NGCI commissioning executive.
Separately, the company is looking to fill the senior commissioning editor and acquisitions manager roles as well as hire a new production manager to work across the updates commissioning slate.
Mykura recently told TBI that it was keen to launch big, headline grabbing specials and that the factual sector in the UK, in particular, was in good health. “The strategy is to have more commissioning firepower where the big production communities are and that makes sense to get the best ideas and deal with the best people. There is no doubt that some of the best ideas come from UK production companies.”
