Sky Atlantic picks up The Pitch
British pay TV broadcaster Sky Atlantic has acquired factual entertainment series The Pitch, which airs on US cable network AMC.
The deal marks All3Media International’s first sale to the News Corp-backed premium network.
The Pitch is produced by Studio Lambert USA and follows a number of American advertising agencies as they compete to win new business. The 8x1hour series runs in the States alongside period advertising drama Mad Men, which also airs on Sky Atlantic in the UK.
The series was created by Eli Holzman, the former Miramax Television boss who has worked on reality formats including Project Runway and Beauty and the Geek.
Sky’s acquisition executive Michael Whelan says: “The Pitch is part of Sky Atlantic’s commitment to bring bold, innovative content to screen from both sides of the Atlantic, from award-winning Mad Men and Game of Thrones to UK-originations such as Hit & Miss, created by Paul Abbott and starring Chloe Sevigny and Great Britain: Our Story, the channel’s first foray into high-end factual.”
