Lifetime orders Neve Campbell-fronted pilot

US cable network Lifetime has ordered backdoor pilot Sworn to Silence starring Neve Campbell and has also struck a development deal with the Scream star.

The A + E Networks-owned broadcaster will launch the two-hour television movie next year and it will serve as a back-door pilot for a full series.

Sworn to Silence is based on Linda Castillo’s novel and tells the story of an Amish farming community that is shattered after a series of brutal murders. Campbell plays Kate Burkholder, who escaped the terror and returns 15 years later as the town’s chief of police.

Campbell, who previously starred in Fox teen drama Party of Five, will also develop a number of scripted dramas and original movies for the network as part of the deal.

This is the latest high profile Hollywood star to sign up with Lifetime following deals with Jennifer Love Hewitt for Modern Love, with Renée Zellweger for Cinnamon Girl and with Johnny Depp for his untitled period drama about Hollywood Reporter founder William Wilkerson, which TBIvision exclusively broke in October.
