Focus on Spain: US listing for Pocoyo producer Zinkia

Zinkia, the Spanish producer of hit animated series Pocoyo, is listing on the New York Stock Exchange Over the Counter market as it seeks to expand into the US.

The company, which is based in Madrid, said the move did not involve a capital increase or increase in funding, but was designed to diversify the range of investors in the company and increase its exposure in the US market.

In Spain, the company listed on the Mercado Alternativo Bursatil (MAB) market in 2009.

Zinkia’s Evolution Management Group, Zinkia EMG, will manage the licensing of Pocoyo in the US. The TV series has been carried on Nick Jr. and PBS Kids in the United States.

Zinkia’s other properties include animated series Shuriken School. It took a 51% stake in UK kids distributor Cake earlier this year.
