All3Media sells Essex to Israel as ITV commits to new series
All3Media International has shopped its ‘prompted reality’ series The Only Way is Essex to Yes in Israel. The third series of the show has just started on ITV2 in the UK and TBIvision understand that the broadcaster has signed off on three more seasons of the show.
Series three generated an average of 1.7 million viewers for ITV2, a 50% increase on the series two debut. The show is produced by All3Media company Lime Pictures.
Despite being about the inhabitants of one county in England, All3Media International has sold the show to several broadcasters outside the UK.
Israeli satellite broadcaster, Yes, joins a roster of international buyers that includes XYZ (Australia), TV5 (Finland), TV4 (Sweden) and Kanal 2 (Estonia).
Meanwhile, the producers want to follow the cast abroad, on a holiday to the Spanish resort of Marbella. The foreign trip will likely not happen until season five, but is firmly on the radar, show creator Ruth Wrigley told TBIvision.
