Banijay and Endemol cut Russian format deals
Ahead of the focus on Russia at MIPCOM next week, two of the largest formats companies in the business have sold shows to Russian broadcasters.
Banijay has shopped its My Parents Are Gonna Love You format to Muz-TV and Endemol has had a second season order for local version of The Money Drop from Rossiya 1.
Muz-TV will air a twenty episode series of My Parents Are Gonna Love You, the French-originated format in which singles get their own back on picky parents.
It has already shopped the format to broadcasters in Belgium, Greece, the Netherlands and Romania, but this will be the first time it will air in Russia. The local version will be made by WeiT Media, the Russian producer that Endemol acquired last March.
WeiT will also produce new seasons of the Russian versions of Conveyor Belt of Love, Snog Marry, Avoid? and Hot Tub Ranking for Muz-TV.
The Russian company will also make The Ten Million Show for Russia’s Rossiya 1 and The Forty Million Show for Kazakhstan. Both are heading into their second seasons and are based on Endemol UK’s Channel 4 show The Money Drop.
