UKTV’s Eden picks up Earth-Touch docs

UKTV-owned factual broadcaster Eden has acquired six high definition wildlife documentaries from producer and distributor Earth-Touch.

The natural history channel has bought forthcoming one-off films The Lost Lagoon, Deep Blue Dive, Underwater Okavango, Man-eaters – Love on the run,  Boteti – the Returning River and Raggies – A Mouthful of Teeth.

This comes after Eden acquired a number of titles including Gannets – The Wrong Side of the Run, along with Diving with Crocodiles, Pride in Battle and Cheetah – Price of Speed earlier this year to run as part of an Earth-Touch branded programming block.

The latest deal was brokered by Eden general manager Adrian Wills, UKTV acquisitions executive Emma Sparks and Earth-Touch director of sales and programming Chris Fletcher.

Sparks said: “Blue chip natural history is at the heart of Eden’s schedule and these six new titles from Earth-Touch, together with the content acquired from them earlier in the year, gives Eden a plethora of jaw-dropping content.”

Earth Touch has a production base in Durban, South Africa and a sales office in London and has produced over 1500 hours of HD natural history programming.
