Turkey’s Global Agency sells Perfect Bride format to China
Chinese broadcaster Hunan is to produce a local version of Turkish reality series Perfect Bride after striking a deal with distributor Global Agency.
The Turkey-based sales agent has also inked format deals with Hungarian broadcaster TV2 and Bulgarian network BTV as well as unnamed broadcasters in Germany, Russia and Ukraine.
The local versions of the format will likely air later this year and in 2012.
Perfect Bride is a matchmaking format that sees a mother-in-law closely involved in her son’s choice of bride. There is a pool of twelve bridal candidates for six bachelors to choose from but their mothers must come on their first dates.
Izzet Pinto, chief executive, Global Agency, says: “We are very excited to see these new local versions, especially in China, which is probably the world’s hardest market to enter.
