US Cable Upfronts 2011: TV Guide Network
TV Guide Network, the US cable channel operated by Lionsgate, is ramping up its slate of original programming with the launch of three new series and a raft of mini-series.
The network has commissioned Ish Entertainment, the production company run by Michael Hirschorn, to produce Gossip Cop, a celebrity factual series based on the eponymous web site run by Dan Abrams’ Mediaite.
It has also struck a deal with Michael Davies’ Sony-owned production company Embassy Row to produce an as-yet-untitled weekly guide to the biggest television series and movies, and a fashion series with Full Picture Entertainment.
The network is also launching Atlas Productions’ Hollywood Crimes and Misdemeanors as well as a number of mini-series including Icons and Innovators and Moments That Changed TV Forever that it will produce internally.
TBI will be launching a new supplement in July that will comprehensively cover all of this year’s US cable pickups.
