ABC orders Endemol’s 101 Ways to Leave a Gameshow as primetime series

ABC has given 101 Ways to Leave a Gameshow a full order.

Having commissioned a pilot of the Endemol format, the US network has now greenlit a primetime version of the show and will air it this summer.

Endemol developed the show in-house and its sales arm has since shopped it to Argentina (Channel 13), UK (BBC One), Germany (RTL), Turkey (Fox), Sweden (TV3) Brazil (TV Globo) and Israel (Keshet).

A key part of the set is a purpose-built 100ft monolithic tower, where the action takes place and as with Endemol’s other physical gameshow format Wipeout, all versions of the series aside from the one for the US are produced from Endemol’s production hub in Argentina.

In the show, losing contestants are evicted in crazy and outrageous ways including from human cannons, by helicopter, rocket and bungee.
