SevenOne launches US office

SevenOne International has launched a US office as it expands into North America.

The German company, which is owned by German commercial broadcaster ProSiebenSat.1 Media, has launched SevenOne International Inc. in the United States, which will be headed by Caroline Kusser, previously the firm’s regional sales director.

This comes as SevenOne International has been ramping up its business in the States; in September 2010 it acquired US production company Kinetic Content, which was set up by former RDF USA boss Chris Coelen, and it has also closed a number of significant network deals including ABC picking up Dick de Rijk’s gameshow You Deserve It and The CW reversioning drama comedy Danni Lowinski.

“We plan to significantly expand our programming presence in English language markets. We’ve repeatedly sold various light entertainment shows in the United States and the United Kingdom and we now hope to repeat that success in fiction programming,” said SevenOne International managing director Jens Richter.
