Lagardère ups broadcast and entertainment revenues
French conglomerate and media company Lagardère has upped revenues at its TV channels and programme production and distribution division Lagardère Active. Overall 2010 sales across the division increased 5.9% year-on-year, taking the total to €1.86 billion (US$2.53 billion). Fourth quarter revenues were up 5.8% at €536 million.
Advertising revenue across the channels group, which includes DTT channels Tiji and Canal J among others, increased 6.6%, Lagardère said. The broadcast division with Lagardère Active reported a 6% year-on-year gain in full-year revenues of €489 million.
The Lagardère Entertainment division also sits within Lagardère Active. It comprises TV production and distribution brands including Atlantique, Timoon and EuropeImages and Lagardère said revenues increased 17.4% in the fourth quarter as a large number of programs were delivered. It did not break out the exact revenue figure.
A strong fourth quarter at Lagardère Active lifted overall performance at the French company, which has diverse interests. Across the whole of Lagardère, annual 2010 revenues were €7.96 billion, a 0.9% increase on the total in the previous year.
