AMC orders Hell on Wheels – eOne, Endemol to distribute

US cable net AMC will follow the success of Mad Men and The Walking Dead with Hell On Wheels, a western set in post-Civil War America.

AMC ordered a pilot earlier this year and has given a full series order to the show and Endemol and eOne will divvy up international distribution rights.

The show is produced by Nomadic Pictures and Endemol’s US division as the company, better known for formats, attempts to move into scripted content. Endemol’s sales arm will handle distribution of the show in Europe and eOne the rest of the world.
