AETN UK appoints IWC exec to run programming

AETN UK has hired IWC Media creative director Adam MacDonald to run programming at its channels across Europe and the Middle East.

In the newly-created position of VP, programming, MacDonald will head-up commissioning, acquisitions and scheduling for the AETN UK portfolio of channels, which includes standard and high-definition versions of History, Bio, Crime & Investigation Network and, in the UK, Military History.

MacDonald, a former head of daytime at UK free-to-air broadcaster Channel 4, joins from IWC, the Scottish independent production company owned by Zodiak Media, and will report to AETN UK managing director Tom Davidson when he starts in the new role in January.
