Debruyn’s BGoodMedia gets first format order
BGoodMedia, the Belgian formats company recently set up by Dieter Debruyn, has secured its first order, for a local version of Cash At Your Door.
Free-to-air broadcaster SBS will air the Belgian version of the show, which originated in Israel on free-to-air channel Channel 10. All3Media International picked up the international format rights and launched it at MIP TV.
In the show the presenter arrives at a contestant’s house and knocks on their front door. If they answer a question correctly and let the host into their home, the show proper begins and they are faced with a series of increasingly difficult questions that they answer for an increasing cash prize.
BGoodMedia was set up by Debruyn, the former head of FremantleMedia Belgium. It inked a deal with All3Media earlier this year whereby it gets the option to develop All3 formats in the country and All3’s international sales arm gets to distribute the Belgian company’s formats outside the country.
“Cash At Your Door is a warm, quirky and hugely entertaining format and we are confident that BGoodMedia’s production will prove very popular in Belgium,” said Stephanie Hartog, executive VP of formats at ALL3Media International.
Dieter Debruyn, Managing Director at BGoodMedia added, “SBS quickly saw the potential of Cash At Your Door. Our collaboration with ALL3Media International has given us access to a host of ideas from some of the world’s top creative talents and we expect to announce more exciting new commissions very soon.”
Separately, Channel 10 Israel has commissioned Matar Universal to produce four more celebrity special versions of the show, featuring stars from other Channel 10 series. A total of 30 episodes have now been commissioned in Israel.
