Sony increases stake in Dutch producer Tuvalu

Sony Pictures Television (SPT) has increased its stake in Tuvalu Media and the Dutch production company will represent all of the Hollywood studio’s formats across the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg.

SPT didn’t disclose how much it has raised its stake to, but did confirm that it owns a majority stake of the producer, which is run by experienced producers Roel Kooi, Taco Zimmerman and Duurt Holman.

Tuvalu produces formats including Holiday SOS and You’ve Been Faked as well as Move Like Michael Jackson, which airs on SBS6 in the country.

The company will also now reversion Sony formats for the Dutch and Benelux markets. Sony’s catalog includes business format Dragons’ Den and medical daytime format Dr. Oz.
