Oprah nets gets new programming team
OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network has rejigged its executive team four months after the hire of Lisa Erspamer as chief creative officer.
Three unscripted executives are set to oversee development for the US cable net, which is a joint venture between factual channel operator Discovery Communications and Winfrey’s Harpo Productions, and replace Jamila Hunter, who joined as head of programming in June.
Hunter will move from head of programming to a development role.
A trio of former MTV execs, Michele Dix, Drew Tappon and Rod Aissa , will head up programming under the new structure. Aissa and Dix will jointly programme primetime with Tappon daytime.
There have been numerous coming and goings at OWN since it was first announced last year. The net is scheduled to launch at the start of next year.
