Banijay picks up Dori’s uMan

France-based production and distribution group Banijay has picked up a slew of European rights to Dori Media’s gameshow format uMan.

UK-listed Dori, which is best-known for its telenovela output, has already sold the show into Spain and Greece and Banijay has acquired rights in six other European territories: France, Germany, Sweden, Norway, the Netherlands and Denmark.

The format pitches a group of contestants into a ‘lab’ setting in which their everyday activities are controlled by the show’s viewers. The show was developed by Dori Media and Cellcom, Israel’s leading mobile telco. A Spanish version of the show, licensed by mobile entertainment outfit Boungiorno, is already in pre-production.
