DRG launching 3D catalogue
UK-based distributor Digital Rights Group has launched a new division dedicated to selling 3D programming. The Queen in 3D was launched at MIPCOM and DRG said it will add a range of new titles to its 3D catalogue ahead of MIP TV.
The new unit will be managed by Justin Judd, the managing director of i-Rights, DRG’s digital arm. So far it has added short film The Technical Hitch to the catalogue and the distributor said it is actively looking to acquire programming produced specifically for 3D as well as 3D episodes of existing titles and remastered content.
“It’s early days for 3D TV but our clients around the world are already looking for 3D content,” Judd said. “We’ll be launching our 3DRG catalogue at MIP TV in April so now is the perfect time for producers with 3D material to get in touch. We’re mostly looking for programming that has been produced specifically in 3D rather than remastered content.”
