Moore out in Disney shakeup
Disney ABC ESPN Television has made its European boss Stephen Moore redundant.
The international distribution arm of the Hollywood studio has let Moore, who was executive vice president and managing director, Europe, Middle East, Africa and Canada, go and will not replace him. Moore joined the company at the start of 2009 as a replacement for Tom Toumazis, who joined formats giant Endemol as chief commercial officer.
Moore’s last day was Friday 29 January.
The distributor, which sells series including Lost, Desperate Housewives and Cougar Town internationally, is shifting its business in EMEA to give more focus to regional divisions. This follows the the hire of Diego Lerner as president, The Walt Disney Company, EMEA. Lerner was previously president, Disney Latin America.
“We’re creating a new structure that prioritises local markets more to enable them to move more quickly and be locally relevant,” a Disney spokesperson told TBIvision.
Moore was previously chief operating officer and head of features at Wallace and Gromit-producer Aardman and before that president, Twentieth Century Fox International.
