FX eyes Sons of Anarchy web originals
US cable network FX is in talks to launch a number of webisodes of hit biker gang series Sons of Anarchy.
The show, which is a coproduction between Fox 21 and FX Productions, was created by The Shield writer Kurt Sutter. Sutter said that he was in talks to launch a series of original online episodes after the series was recommissioned for a third season.
“Discussing the possibility of webisodes during the hiatus. Something to give back to the fans. No promises but were looking into it,” he blogged.
The series, which is expected to restart in September 2010, follows the eponymous outlaw motorcycle gang from Northern California and its vice president Jax Teller, played by Queer As Folk’s Charlie Hunnam, who questions his role in the gang.
The show is one of FX’s most successful original series with its premiere averaging over 5.4 million viewers.
