Nat Geo commissions Beyond travel series

National Geographic Channels International has commissioned Australian indie Beyond Productions to produce The Best Job In The World, a series about Queensland Island’s Ben Southall.

The 6x1hour series will look at Southall, who won a competition to become caretaker of the island, as he spends six months working with Tourism Queensland.

This follows Beyond’s successful series Taboo, which aired on Nat Geo internationally.

The factual broadcaster has taken the international cable TV rights to the series, while Beyond is expected to distribute the programme to free-to-air broadcasters.
