Nordic producers merge to form Northern Alliance

Private equity outfit Capman is set to merge its three Scandinavian production companies to form the Northern Alliance Group and has also acquired Swedish producer Baluba.

Northern Alliance Group will comprise of Danish producer Gong, Norwegian producer Monster and Finnish production company Moskito Group.

The joint company, which will be 32% owned by the management of the individual companies including Baluba chief executive Peter Settman, has currently got 60 series in production including TV2 Norway’s local version of FremantleMedia format Idol and entertainment series Showman.

Northern Alliance Group will be run by former Moskito boss Roope Lehtinen.

Olli Liitola, senior partner, Capman, and chairman, Northern Alliance Group, says: “Our goal has been to build a substantial independent production company in the Nordic countries. I am pleased that we have now found strong partners in all four major markets in the region.”
