Sharples out as Endemol restructures Asia operations

Global producer and distributor Endemol has restructured its Asian operations in a shake-up that will see the departure of Edward Sharples, managing director of its South East Asian business since 2004.

The company is also set to move its South East Asian business headquarters from Bangkok to Hong Kong. All Endemol operations across the region will now directly report to Arjen van Mierlo, chief executive of Asian operations.

This follows move to set up local production companies in India and Malaysia and Endemol says that it has also licensed a number of its international formats in China and Korea.
